Http Error 500

I edited my config.php in cPanel and can't access my forum site.

I get the following error:

HTTP ERROR 500

Even after un-doing my changes.

  • Try deleting the .ini files in the forum cache, you should try using filezilla and a good code editor instead of cpanel.

Hey @Rangerine - I'd use Notepadd++ for simple editing like that. Recently I've been using Atom as well.

For solving error code 500 it is best to look at the http server logs.

    Perfect. Thanks.

I've looked up the server logs, and it reveals this:

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/local/lib/php-5.3.29-amd64/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/php_curl.dll' - /usr/local/lib/php-5.3.29-amd64/lib/php/extensions/no-debug-non-zts-20090626/php_curl.dll: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0

I'm not sure what I should do to fix this problem - do I need to edit a line of a file somewhere?

    Thanks for any forthcoming help

(P.S. I'm also getting the 500 error after upgrading to 2.2.1 - I've disabled plugins and deleted the ini cache files)

  • I saw instructions in the dashboard to create a new thread if I had issues upgrading, so rather than barge in on this discussion, I've created a new discussion as per the instructions, which can be found here:

  • Kindly disable all plugins and addons. Then try again. If it works fine then you should enable plugins one by one and check regularly. You will get the answer which plugin or addon is creating problem.
