Themes are so easy to enable and swap, you might just as well try different ones and see for yourself.

As a "general rule" themes don't add functionality features. Mobile themes may reduce the number of options you have available or what is presented on different devices.
themes generally present a different look whereas plugins and apps generally add functionality
