Render-blocking javascript as reported by Google PageSpeed Insights

Is there a way to solve this issue of render-blocking javascript as reported by Google PageSpeed Insights. Vanilla forum is running too slow and will definitely affect Google ranking. "Consolidate" plugin could not solve the issue. Does anyone knows how to solve this problem?

Don't use PageSpeed.. it hurt more than it helps. You don't have any render blocking javascript in Vanilla. This is likely cause by PageSpeed.

@vrijvlinder: I would like to have your is insights why using Page Speed hurts more than it helps? Page Speed isn't causing anything to a Vanillaforum. It's bot an implementation. It's a remote service.

Is there a way to combine all the JavaScripts into one or two JavaScript files in other to improve speed and reduce render blocking JavaScripts? I tried Consolidate plugin but could not achieve much on page speed.

Nono don't make wrong assumptions. @phreak doesn't know everything and only adressed your opinion @vrijvlinder. But he reads reliable sources, official Google blogs, uses GTMetrix, Searchmetrics and Sistrix.

I am quiet happy that here is only one aggressive sister anymore and that the aggressive brothers has gone. It's almost peacefull now... almost.

It should solve exactly this issue. What version of Vanilla and Consolidate do you have installed and how did you configure it?

@Bleistivt - I used Vanilla 2.2.1 and Consolidate 0.2.0b.
Installation of Consolidate plugin does not change or improve the page speed as reported by Google Speed Test. Below is my setting for the consolidate when I have it installed but since it does not improve speed, I don't have it installed.

Enable it, then press ctrl+u on any page of your forum. Do you see lots of <script ...> elements in the <head> section or just a few?
