Request for new dictionary entry

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
In swedish, the word for 'new' has different inflection for one or several new messages. Would love to see a OneNew (or something) to companion XNew. ;)

Comments

  • Or even 'New comment' vs. 'New Comments'.

    This is nothing compared to Russian. For russian you would need 3 types of comments:
    1. for 1 comment and all that ends with one (e.g. 21, 601), except 11 and all that ends with 11 (e.g. 211, 3411);
    2. for 2 through 4 and all that ends with 2-4 (e.g. 23, 1064), except 12-14 and all that ends with 12-14 (e.g. 1212, 914);
    3. for full tens and for 5-9 and all that ends with 5-9 (e.g. 20, 8, 106), except for 15-19 and all that end with 15-19 (e.g. 1815, 716).

    Inflections, however are simpler, but "New comment" vs "New comments" would not do anyway :)

    So, I think you can survive one single difference between single and multiple. However, still the addon for countables would be great.

    Sorry for not being informative on the subject, but now you can see what kind of addon there should be for russian.

    If you guys want to write the code for how you think it should be in that template file, I'll change it.
