Register in a popup

I have my forum and comments embedded in my primary website. If a customer wants to register for the forum the link takes them away from my e-commerce site and to where the forum is being hosted. I need a way for the new user registration to be done in a popup box. I found an old post from 2013 but the information was either outdated or I am just too simple to implement it. Any help would be appreciated. I'm not a coder so details are very appreciated.

This is the thread that I read and tried to follow the steps but I simply could not figure it out: https://vanillaforums.org/discussion/22739/register-in-pop-up-box
These settings are in the dashboard for the embedding. You have a choice of using popup or not.

Thank you for the response! I have "Use popups for sign in pages" enabled under advanced embedding configuration which is fine for those who are just signing in. If someone needs to register a new account the link takes people to a stand alone page on the sub-domain where the forum is being served from rather than a popup over the embedded page. Is there anything I am missing in the dashboard or is this something that needs to be coded? My forum is not hosted by Vanilla if that makes a difference.
I believe you need to add the trusted url of the embed into the form in that same page in the dashboard..
