tweaking page manager & Discussion

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi everyone, I'm new brand user of Vanilla. Discovered it yesterday, playing along with it whole day and I love it... its features, specially simplicity and speed :) Have couple questions though: 1) is it possible to customize custom tabs created with page manager? Left page position is probably not an option, how about changing their color and layout position? I would like to leave main tabs (Discussion, Categories and search as they are, as they represent the focus of the page) but i need to somehow display some extra static page information to visitors, users etc. So I'm thinking of display newly created tabs bellow main ones and change their color. Would that be possible? Like: |Discussion| |Categories| |Search| |custom tab| |custom tab2| |custom tab3| 2) I would like to test Vanilla for e-consulting. Is it possible to have some text displayed (it could be first comment), which you comment later on. But this "primary" text should always be visible above (or near) comment's form so that user has it always in front of him. Somehow to be always first to read and last to comment in the same time. Thanks and all best to you all

  • The Announcement extension might help out with your item 2. Have you looked at it?
  • Yes I have, but it doesn't do the trick for several reasons: - it is just one announcement, i would need several for different topics to consult about - it appears on the top of discussion, i would need something that would appear within category or comment - it appears just on top (and it disappears when going into discussion) - it is time based (this is minor problem) Maybe first comment (sytled in html) in combination with "top of page" and "bottom of page" links would be best temporary solution... Thanks anyway :) Best
