how can i set up rules for the members? and determine where to put them based on sign up page options?
for example if i chose i'm a gamer i can not see anything in designers forums

is that possible or it requires some special addons?

that looks a bit out of date. However,you or another person who might be interested could modify it and remove the views or update them to vanilla 2.3

the main thing to adjust roles for viewing certain categories is done via checkbox for custom permission for categories via the dashboard. (see image below).
