Problems while logging in (only in IE)

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I'm having some problems while trying to log in (using Internet Explorer). Sometimes, after entering the username and password, it doesn't log in at all. But after entering them again it logs in beautifully. Only IE users have this problem with entering log-in info twice. Could anyone help me solve this?

So what do you mean by "it doesn't log in at all"? Does it send you to the discussions but not logged in? Does it send you back to the login form? What are your cookie and session settings? Did you have autologin enabled before and returned to the forum logged out? etc etc etc

My forum is closed to the public, only registered users can see the discussions. After trying to log in it sends me back to the login form. This morning I've switched to the default style (from Soul Scape) and it seems to be ok now...

    edit:
//nope... two users reported they still have the problem.

When you first get to the login page to sign in, what is the url? It may be hard to reproduce, but I have a feeling that it *is* signing you in, but it's just not redirecting to the right place. You may need to change your FORWARD_VALIDATED_USER_URL setting...
  • So theoretically after logging in and being sent back to the login form, if you refresh the page, you should be logged in, right? But it doesn't happen that way.
