Ok , you had bad plugins enabled and that was the cause. I disabled them in order to see the editor. The editor works now on comments and new discussion. You must clean your installation from bad incompatible plugins. Sadly not all plugins work anymore. Some are so bad they won't disable, like the Oembed plugin.

Not your fault. Just stay away from plugins that require lower versions of vanilla and have not been updated.
