How to unban on 2.2.1

I was testing the ban functionality and in doing so successfully banned a user ID through the IP address banning tool. I have since removed the IP ban but the user was still showing as 'banned' in the user list.
I have edited at user level as well but nothing removes the 'banned' status in the user list. It's still banned and that account can't log back in.
Cache has been cleared from the user PC.
Is there something else I need to do? The user ID is showing as ' banned ' and ' member ' at user level but only the member box is checked.

Welcome to the community.
Clicking on the banned user profile should give you the opportunity to unban, and to restore content if relevant.
Separately, you really should upgrade to 2.3.
You are running an insecure and vulnerable version of Vanilla.
