suddenly lost the navigation tabs

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
My local installation of vanilla suddenly lost the navigation tabs. Even when I log in as admin, I don't see them. Can anyone give me a clue what might be wrong?

  • Do you have the page manager installed? If so, does disabling it fix the problem?
  • I do have it installed, but I don't have access to my settings. Can I just move the extension folder out of the extensions folder to test?
  • It will spit out an error at the top, but it should be okay to test it.
  • Thanks, I can now get into my settings. Why would that happen?
  • I'm glad it is now working, but I am sorry, I can't tell you why that would happen.
  • I activated Page Manager again and lost the tabs again, but was able to get to the Page Management page and resynced my tabs. Now everything appears to be working fine. However, that is a little scarry and would like to know what would cause the navigations tabs to become "out of sync". I am going to use Pages on my live forum and would like to know what to look out for to avoid this problem, if possible. nathan: thanks again for your help.
  • It might have been because the extension somehow tried to both read and write from the file at the same time. If that was indeed the case I added in a call to flock() to make sure it wont happen again (I don't know why I took it out in the first place...).

Will this be in the latest version if I download the extension now? Or can you just tell me where to add the code in your script? Thanks, jim
  • I would say he changed it. The "last updated" time was set to today. http://lussumo.com/addons/?PostBackAction=AddOn&AddOnID=60 Give it a go. I am quite sure that version will have his changes.

I did just change it, yes. All you have to do is replace the default.php file in the download with the one in your installation.

EDIT: lol, beat me to it
