Good morning all, I have vanilla 2.3 and I just have a few questions. I found a theme that I like that is requires with 2.2, I read somewhere that the difference with 2.2 and 2.3 was a php issue with smarty.. I have php 7, now the side bar displays on every page but on some pages like search, post/discussion, the bar is there but the stuff in side is not, also on messages/inbox the button shows correctly with a bg color on messages/add the button is there but the bg color of the button is gone.. I have searched through out this whole theme but cannot find anything pertaining to these pages.. is this a theme only issue or is it a core issue?

also the box in the sidebar that says sign in where can I locate that in the core? I wanted to change the text

I guess what you are describing is part of the standard Vanilla css. You can see that it is not only a theme issue if you look at this forum:

Look here to see how it is done. Therefore, if you want to change that, you need something like this in your custom theme:

If you begin customizing Vanilla, please do not change any files. If you do changes, you will have problems upgrading later on. In 99% there are better ways than changing files. When in doubt, just ask
