Writing a comment in IE

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Don't know if anyone reported it, but pressing enter in the comments form causes skipping two lines. Don't know if you understand what I mean :] it'l like you've put two < br / > tags. You can se an exemple here. After each "test" i've pressed 'enter' only once.

I believe I saw that in IE 6.0/winXP once or twice.

EDIT: yep, it happens on a keypress.

Oh, and about the double newline--that is as intended, one br breaks the current line, the second creates a blank line.
  • But it doesn't happen like this in Firefox for instance...

Have you tried using textareas in other applications to see if it's a lussumo-community-only issue?

That double space appears only when I'm using IE Tab extension for Firefox... sorry, my bad. But the scrollbar disappears in IE as well as in FF. And it happens only with Vanilla.

It appears the half percent is causing the text box to expand about 8 or so pixels. This fixes at about line 911 in vanilla.css:
    #Form textarea { width: 99%; /* used to be 99.5% */

FF doesn't show any scrollbar by default, unless the content of the textarea is long enough
