Having trouble setting up Vanilla

Okay
So I uploaded the unzipped files to my host using filezilla
Im following this tutorial https://docs.nexcess.net/article/how-to-install-vanilla-forums-community-edition-1-8.html#two
Set up the database
added the user
etc

As soon as I get to step 6 Configure Vanilla forums
this is where I am stuck

if I go to my domain name it just takes me to control panel log in
It doesnt take me to an installer page

What am I doing wrong?

I just keep getting a 404: Page Not Found when I go to my domain/sub directory

Please post the htaccess file

I actually just figured it out
I wasnt uploading into the correct file
I got it up though
