How can I disable the dreaded smileys in 2.3.1? [RESOLVED]

The smileys somehow flew in under the radar. Only just found out they're there on typing a colon. Good grief, we can't have that, that's far too childish. Yet I can't see any obvious way of turning them off. Anyone help?

Answered my own question. Although it's counter-intuitive, I see you can turn them off with the Emoji Sets plugin. It needs a better description to say it does that.
