Moving Vanilla

edited August 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I have vanilla in domain.com/vanilla - After thinking about it, I'd rather have it in domain.com/forums. Thinking back to phpbb, it would call shenanigans at the sign of any kind of change. How does Vanilla handle this?

Here are the steps I think I would have to take, from a designer's perspective:
1) Change the web-path to http://www.domain.com/forums/
2) Change to cookie path to /forums/
3) Rename the directory from "vanilla" to "forums?

Realistically, Is it really going to be that simple?

  • err well you should be able to edit /conf/settings.php or the other settings with all the path urls And well yeah it should be that easy.
  • You could also use mod_rewrite to simulate vanilla being in /forums.
