Anyone Flock?

  • Maybe not, but it's still smaller both smaller and faster than firefox (and just as, if not more so, standards compliant)
  • Anyone trying Firefox 2 Beta 2? I am. I like it a lot better then Firefox 1.5. Just because of the cleaner look. It still has the loading problems, but I think its loading pages a bit faster. And overall, has a cleaner feel to it.

Jazzman mentioned the new Browzar.. Here's a little more info on it: http://web3.0log.org/2006/09/01/new-secure-browser-browzar-is-fake-and-full-of-adware/
  • Welcome to a day ago, mania :D http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/3541/anyone-flock/#Item_12
  • Now how the hell did I miss that one... :D
  • I tried flock, but only stuck with it because it's become my 'personal' browser at work, while firefox is my 'work' browser, profile wise. It's way slow, and it totally munged my del.icio.us bookmarks at one point.
  • After some road-testing, Flock's been put back in it's box. Long live Safari (+Vienna for RSS). After a minute or two, Flock just felt too clunky, and crashed a couple of times while trying to execute some more interesting features. Way too slow on start-up and shutdown...
  • I got tired of Flock long ago.

Oooooohhhhhhh...... Shiira out Apple's Apple's Safari. Pretty genius stuff, actually.
  • hey mark and others...i have looked at Flock and others to various degrees: I like Flock better.

what thoughts do you have for Flock ?
  • Flock has pretty much lost all hype it had. it was buggy and too slow to keep up with firefox code.
  • muchas gracias: what is the better alternative ?
  • Firefox + addons ;)

I am looking at Firefox now: any specific addon ?
  • Personally I don't use very many addons but I can guarantee that theres something for what you're looking for. So it really depends on what you want to be able to do.

If there's not then get the greasemonkey addon and then go to http://userscripts.org/ to find some scripts to add to that. Theres quite a lot there for many sites.
