Layer Positioning Question

edited September 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I have an invisible layer (a help hint) that appears when cursor passes over a ? icon.

When viewing the top of the page, the layer appears at [top 10, left 10] which is OK.

However, when the viewer scrolls down, [top 10, left 10] are out of view, is there any way to make these attributes refer to the top of the screen, rather than the top of the page?

  • Using position:fixed would solve your problem, but it wouldn't work in IE without some ugly hacks or JS.
  • http://www.howtocreate.co.uk/fixedPosition.html You could also do it completely with JS.
