New
I kinda new to vanilla forums. I already have a forum but its little bit older Version 2.2.1. Now I want to update it for 2.5. I downloaded and read the readme file. I did replace files as they said. But Still no luck. Can anyone help me with it, please? Any steps by step or links would be great
Thank You

Steps and links are all here. "No luck" is hard to debug. What exactly has gone wrong?
Mind if you can share some links ? Well I just copied all but still same. nothing changed.same version
General advices, though not sufficient for 2.5.1: https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/31153/tutorial-a-fool-proof-way-to-do-a-vanilla-upgrade-from-2-1-to-2-2
Vanilla 2.5 related: https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/35687/vanilla-2-5-is-now-available
Vanilla 2.5.1 related: https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/35925/vanilla-2-5-1-now-available-security-update
As you can see copying is not enough. There are a few additional steps needed
I can see your plight - documentation for upgrading is in multiple places. some incomplete, some assuming someone will know what things mean.
e.g. from the readme.
•If any "Deleted Files" are listed on the upgrade page, manually delete the listed files.
what is the upgrade page? you might say.
perhaps the release notes (is this the upgrade page) for the general version (e.g. 2.5)
https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/35687/vanilla-2-5-is-now-available
but not the release notes (but not the upgrade page) for the minor version (e.g. 2.5.1)
https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/35925/vanilla-2-5-1-now-available-security-update
but maybe here
https://docs.vanillaforums.com/developer/installation/
so if you upgrade from 2.2.x or 2.3.x 2.4 (if any) to 2.5.1 you won't see the necessary info that is in 2.5 readme - its not easy.
