Location of layout Images - baseline theme

Long story short, I'm thinking about just adding CSS to the baseline (default) theme instead of applying a theme.

I've added a custom.css file to /themes/default/design/

Where is it suggested to add the layout "images" (directory)?

    Hi, thats totally up to you. There is not really a guideline for this in Vanilla. :)

    I would choose "/themes/whatever/design/images", but you are really free. But what I what not do, is adding something to the default theme. Either creating a custom theme or using the plugin CSSEdit (and uploading the images to the uploads folder) would be cleaner
