"Google Analytics" vs. "Sidepanel"

edited September 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I have been using the "Sidepanel" add-on to add the Google Analytics code to my Forum. I just saw that now there is a specific "Google Analytics" add-on. Can someone explain what is the difference between the add-ons, and if there is any benefit in using one over the other? Many thanks in advance!

as long as what you've got is working for you, there's no reason to change.
the only difference would be that the google analytics add-on places the scripts in the head instead of the body.

Now I feel like one of those... newbs... but, I can't seem to find the original Google Analytics extension discussion. So, I'll post my question here:

Parse error: parse error, unexpected T_CONSTANT_ENCAPSED_STRING in /homepages/36/d105944992/htdocs/wmw/people/extensions/GoogleAnalytics/default.php on line 15

I get this error after putting in my account # into the default.php file. Any thoughts?

paste the line containing your acct# here exactly as you have it. you (or i) probably left out quotes or something.
