Show who posted in category?

Hi! Is this a design bug from my theme or a plugin? Or this how vanilla forums is? It doesn't show who made the post in the category.

As you can see it shows who made the most recent comment, but not the author of the post.

It's on purpose. You can see how it's done in /applications/vanilla/views/discussions/helper_functions.php in the writeDiscussion function.

You could write some code in a plugin or your theme to show the author of the post in one of the events that's fired in that function, or override that function completely.
