Login API

Hi all,

Is there an API to log a user in available with 2.8? I asked about it before and was told that it would be in 2.7. I see the API to add a new user but not to log one in. Is that something is now available and not yet in the open source docs, or is it still to come?

    No, the current documentation is still correct. But it is not hard to create such a token.

    We were initially planning the authentication and authenticator APIs for 2.7 but the single developer spearheading the development moved to a different team and the priority of those endpoints has been lowered. It’s currently present in 2.8 but locked behind of a feature flag. The following still needs to be completed in order for it to be made publicly available:

    • compatibity with various SSO methods.
    • security audit of the endpoints
    • Completion of new frontend pages using the endpoints.
    • Documentation.

    For this reason recent/current items on our roadmap like:

    • Rich Editor
    • Keystone
    • Category Following
    • Multiple internal/cloud only addons.

    Have a team of 4 developers working on them at the moment and we have plans to increase our team size this year.
