dashboard is broken after updating to 2.8

New
for some reason, the dashboard doesn't really work anymore. I'm using bluehost which has php 7.0.
I don't see any way for new users to register, and a lot of dashboard functionality is messed up. if I click on registration under membership on the left hand menu, the pages for categories show up. This is true for several of the menu items - sometimes the correct content appears, sometimes not.
any suggestions for how to restore the ability to register new users? the ability to sign up is not showing up anywhere on the site anymore.

That's a problem several php 7.0 users experienced.
Update your php version and the problem should be solved.
i have bluehost and they don't have a newer version of php. hmmm...
7.1 was released december 2016, 7.2 released november 2017
Support for 7.0 ended december 2018.
I'd say they are somewhat behind.
"Our servers support PHP 5.4, PHP 5.6, and PHP 7.0.
Bluerock accounts support up to PHP 7.2"
Tell them they have a security issue by not offering something above 7.0. As Kaspar said, 7.0 isn't supported any more.
