Statistics extension - "Notice: Undefined index" rears its head...

edited September 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Greetings all... My Vanilla's been rolling along nicely. Grinning like a Cheshire, and well-fed. And today, out of the blue, I get a raft of "Notice: Undefined index:" warnings on my discussion page. And it doesn't happen consistently - sometimes going to the discussions page is fine. Refreshing the page once or twice tends to make the error go away. It's freaking me out no end whenever it does turn up, though - can't quite understand what's happening or why. The index errors are all attributed to the "statistics" extension - but that's been running fine since I first installed it, and I haven't updated or changed anything prior to the error. I'm running Vanillia 1.01, and my statistics extension is up to date. (0.2.8). Any suggestions, anyone?

Copy and paste the actual errors in here and mention the statistics extension in your discussion title.
  • I'm guessing it's probably to do with the stats extension writing its file incorrectly or not being able to read/write it for some reason which is why it happens periodically (since the extension only updates every once in a while). Actual errors would be handy though.
  • Sorry guys... Left it for a few hours, and all seems okay now. Weird. If it rears up again, I'll post specific errors - they all pointed to different lines in the default.php file of the statistics extension... Thanks anyway...
  • Spoke too soon - errors on the way...

  • Took 2 reloads of the page to get rid of. Seemed to happen soon after I posted something to the board...
  • Never did figure this one out. Turned of statistics, and that's killed the errors, but it'd be nice to know what happened (and have some stats back, one day...)
