Place Ads on categories, sidebar or discussions

Vanilla 3.1

hi, is it possible to place images on sidebars/categories/discussions as if they were from Google AdSense. Just place images with link as an ad banners in some places.

I tried some plugins but they are very old and they are not working on Vanilla 3.1

If anyone knows how could I do this, I'll be very glad.

Vanilla comes with the Pockets plugin which is the best solution for this
