Vanilla email notification language assumption

I just received a PM from a member in this forum who lives in a German speaking country and has his preference language set to German. When I received an email notification it started with:

Du hast eine Nachricht von {name}

The assumption that the sender trasnlation language should be used may actually be a presumption...
