[Announcement] Discussion

I stumbled upon a forum today that had these kind of discussions as well as the [Sticky], etc. kind. Can this be done? I think it would answer a lot of requests I've seen for putting a discussion item at the top of the category.

    You sure they hadnt just changed the name sticky to announcement? How did they behave?

    It took me a while to remember, but it was Phorum. I found it when I was doing research on tags and got to the Ultimate Tag Warrior plugin site. She uses Phorum as a support forum. It looks interesting.

    Sticky stays on top for the main page or the category you are in. An announcement stays on top on all pages. Isn't that how it works?

    how did you get [Announcement] ? is there a way to add tags in vanilla ?

    In this case he just wrote it as the discussion title. He's suggesting it as an extension though.

    I'm not exactly suggesting it as an extension. I would like to know from Mark how easy (or hard) it would be to add another "discussion marking" like Sticky and the other built-in things.
