Vanilla default CSS path change

Does the default Vanilla file structure for themes have to stay that way or can we change it ? I find it to be too too many clicks to get to the vanilla.css and want to shorten the dir path how will this effect the settings for themes ?

    It's done that way for a very good reason. But if you want to change it, you're welcome to do so in your own installation.

    You can change it very easily to anything you like if you install the custom styles add-on.

    in changing the vanilla.css to a different name I notice it messes up the style does this have to be added somewhere ? in init_vanilla it appears only to list vanilla.css
