problem with email text, with Notify extension

Hi, I'm using the last version of Notify. I modified the file email_notify.txt to translate it to spanish. But I got a lot of problems with it, because the codification of this file. So, I finally had saved it as iso 8859-1 and carry return in Windows format (I'm using Suse linux for the forum). But the problem is I'm getting the emails without any accent, and instead the characters with the accents has dissapears. So, what is the right configuration for the file email_notify.txt thank you.
