What do you mean by a pinned message notice?
Hi RJ...
The "Messages" that you access from the "Moderation" page that stay pinned to the pages.
You can see the one I'm using on the right lower sidebar, ( coronavirustalk .xyz) but I wanted to put a message on top with a .gov website link and I get the error. I'm thinking it may be a bug in the Keystone theme maybe? I haven't tried switching back to the default theme yet and try it.
Works for me:
That's the result of a message with this text:
See this link! https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/38080/getting-whoops-invalid-url#latest
And this works, too
See <a href="https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/38080/getting-whoops-invalid-url#latest">this link!</a>
I see! What's not working is when you omit the protocoll "https://"!
That's strange, I just cant get it to work. I even copied your exact example code at me site:
See <a href="https://open.vanillaforums.com/discussion/38080/getting-whoops-invalid-url#latest">this link!</a>
See below what I get:
Am I only allowed to use INTERNAL links in the messages box? I'm trying to use a EXTERNAL link and its not working.
I tried linking to a post inside my forum and it worked, but that's of course an INTERNAL link.
If the protocol isn't specified, Vanilla tries to prefix your own domain so that it is treated like an internal link. I have pasted the code above in my test forum, so it was an external link.
What link do you want to insert?
I wanted to put this wording and URL in a message box:
For news and official information visit: https://www.coronavirus.gov/
I could insert that with no problems at all... :-/
