Filebrowser, meet Vanilla: integration question

I thought it would be good to set Filebrowser to work on files uploaded to my Vanilla forum with the Attachments plugin. Both apps are in different folders for obvious reasons I made a symbolic link to the Vanilla uploads: FB found the Vanilla uploads/yyyy/mm folders and their contents but: thumbnailer.php didn't create thumbs, (and gave no error msgs) and links don't work (copy image url) since the link is only symbolic how can I fix this? Happy to dive into the php...

    bumping self: thumbnailer actually made it to the right dir, and created thumbs. But filebrowser didn't know where the thumbs were: I notice FB creates pages with '//' before the actual dir or content for browsing and a single slash before symbolic dir links, not that I know why.
