Display only a specific category on a web page using the embed feature?

The background
I've setup an instance of Vanilla and added it to a website using the embed feature, it works brilliantly. The forum contains two forums: Chat and Ask A Question.
The chat forum is for registered users who specifically want to join in the discussion, whichcan get a bit heated. The Ask A Question is everyone who just wants to ask a question about the subject matter of the site.
Ideally I want to put the Ask A Question category on a separate page to the chat forum. This this possible with embed?
Failing that, if I setup a 2nd instance of Vanilla for the Ask A Question section, can I link the two, so people only have to signup to one but get access to both, if they so wish?
