\n NewLine characters showing up in posts

I noticed today that we are getting formatting text in our posts
Here is an example. These formatting parts (the insert and newline) should not be visible.
Any ideas?

Happening in new discussion(created after potential change) or in old discussion(created before potential change)?
Each comment/discussion has a format. In the corresponding database tables (GDN_Comment/GDN_Discussion) there is a column called "Format".
The example you showed above is of the format "Rich", but I expect the database would show something different. Has anybody touched the content of that database column "manually"?
