Vanilla & Laravel Integration

I've searched the forum and the related posts seem to be very outdated...

I was wondering if:

1) Is it possible to share the same login where my Laravel site users can connect with Vanilla without needing a separate login / sso / registration.

2) If it's possible, what are the general pointers / directions for me to try out this integration?
