I start with an apology, there must be hundreds of questions on this but I cannot find the answer ~ I want.

My webspace was upgraded to PHP 8 and of course, the forum I was hosting for someone stopped working. I tried upgrading it and that failed.

I then decided to create a new forum from scratch, and after 3 different downloads I found none initiate the setup process when I go to the root folder. Some talk about a dashboard folder that is not in the root folder..

So I am not an expert in these matters by a huge margin but I did set up a Vanilla forum under PHO 7.2 so not totally incompetent.

Can anyone help me with a download that works for someone like me?

    Further to this and to clarify when I go to my forum page then it immediately redirects to https://example.com/forum/dashboard/setup but the Vanilla download does not contain a folder called dashboard? so I get a big fat 'X' !

    Also typo in my last post, PHP 7.2 of course.

    You need to have correct .htaccess for redirection.
