A fata, non-recoverable error

Hi all:
When I tried to request a password reset, I received this message:

"A fatal, non-recoverable error has occurred
Technical information (for support personel):
Error Message
An error occurred while sending the email.
Affected Elements
Email.Send();
The error occurred on or near: SMTP server response: 501 5.5.4 Invalid Address "

Since I am a new user and have just added Vanilla into my website. Do not know how to solve this issue. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Are you sure the email address in your account profile is correct and valid? Did you set up vanilla to use SMTP or just normal sendmail? What version of php are you running?

    Yes. Email address is correct. Every user has the same issue. No, we did not set up vanilla to use SMTP. It is just normal sendmail. The version we have is 5.0.4 with pair support.

    I had the same problem a few hours ago when attempting to log into my forums' Admin account. I tried logging in about 4 or 5 times with no success. I went into my files to make sure that I didn't make a mistake when I was making some recent changes. Everything checked out ok. Then, I tried logging in again and everything was fine. I have no idea what happened but it's been fine ever since.
