  • crap... I have got a bug on my forum theme.
  • Can you install 7 without killing 6?

    I need 6 to test.
  • There might be a hack.
  • jeff by default it will override IE6
  • You can run this standalone version of IE6 alongside IE7.
  • I tried the IE7 install several times and could not get it to install. Maybe if I really need it, I'll try to wade through all the methods MS gives to try and fix the install. Not worth spending any more time on this since I use FF.

One of the bug on the discussions page is caused by *html>body .ContentInfo h1 { width:80% !important; }For which browser this hack is for?
  • I assume IE7 but I would like verification also please. Also, where is this code located? Which file?
  • it is in vanilla/style/default/vanilla.css line 283
  • star html hack is for IE6. It won't work in IE7, unless quirks mode is enabled. looks like Mark will now have to rewrite some of the css
  • I don't think IE6 can understand html>body.
  • There isn't a star in that line of CSS that when I look (at Vanilla 1.0.1). So, it looks like the child selector is being used to hide css from IE6. I believe that IE7 will see that line of css code however. You can read more about it here: http://www.positioniseverything.net/articles/ie7-dehacker.html

Um... I might have left the * after commenting / uncommenting it. However I deleted the line and added 2 rules (see http://lussumo.com/community/discussion/3813/bug-1-to-1-of-1-appears-on-right-instead-of-below/#Item_1)
  • so any patch for its genuine windows requirement :P
