How to include code snippets in a post?

Greetings, If I want to format some programming language and include it in a post, how would I do this? It seems that Vanilla strips out extra spaces, especially leading spaces, which makes it hard or impossible to indent anything. Thanks!

    Surround the code block with <code> ... </code> brackets, and select the HTML option under Format comments as.

    You have to use a html formatter and put your code inside the code tag:<code>your code here </code></code
