Accessibility of Vanilla

I've seen a couple posts relating to this, but none of them had clear answers. How well does Vanilla rate in terms of accessibility, especially regarding w3c standards? Notably, the getvanilla.com site seems to claim it requires javascript, yet I have javascript disabled while posting this. Oops, "Preview Post" doesn't work, let's try "Start your discussion"...

    Well, that apparantly worked. Pity that preview doesn't.

    javascript is required for some of the fancier ajax features in vanilla core, that is why I say it's required. Of course any extensions may have their own unique requirements as well.
