Simple CSS help: Add icons, Add tagline

Thought I'd ask here for a little "simple" CSS help. I have two questions, the solutions to which will really help round off my default stylesheet. I've hacked away at Soul-Scape to get what I've got (thanks Ben, and whilst I'm at it, thanks Mark!), as I've got limited CSS/HTML skills, but can't quite get these right in the time I have. Here is my vanilla: http://www.charltonlife.com/forum 1) I want to add little 16x16icons to the banner at the top of my page (I'm using the LussumoBanner extension), next to the links (so you have the silk icon "home" to the left of the "Charlton Life" link, the email icon next to "Contact us" etc... I can add them in the CSS (a hatchet job!), but they don't line up, they sit too low, so I wondered whether someone here with proper knowledge could help me out. You can see the CSS if you have the Firefox Developer extension (the css is on its own, not in the vanilla.css). 2) Below the "Charlton Life: Forum" heading, I want to add a smaller tagline, like on the main site (http://www.charltonlife.com). The heading will have to go up some, with the smaller tagline underneath. If you're bored on a Saturday night, feel free to help a simpleton out!
