index file

edited November 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I have the latest version of Vanilla installed. But in order to get to the site you have to go to this address: http://www.fredericksburgva.ws/forum/index.php Not sure why I need the "index.php" unless it's because it's not the default site that comes up for that url. Problem is if you go to it and click on "categories" then click on "discussions" it bring you to the "directory tree".... Appreciate any help ..thks

That's a web server configuration setting. If you are running apache, you can make the server recognize your index file using a .htaccess file. If you are using IIS you will have to go into Internet Services Manager and add the index.php file to the defaults list.
