Vanilla has the best feature of all forums

edited November 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hello. We members on the forum might already know this. But I am very experienced in the forum industry and have seen mostly all existing forum bulletin boards. And I have to say. Vanilla is the the forum with the biggest potential and yes, it is the BEST forum of all. I would like to see more add-ons added to the default forum package, and I don't think you should be afraid for "bloating". Some other forum bulletin boards such as PunBB and UseBB have gone with the same attitude, light, small, but they don't grow so big. In the end, features are gold. Vanilla's feature is awesome. Here is why. Theming is very nice, simple, pure, yet powerful. I have seen some people complaining about Javascript that Vanilla uses. They are just wicked. Every browser supports Javascript, and Javascript is good. Also Vanilla has added some new innovative features such as whispers, sink discussions, etc, etc, but Vanilla need to add many more features to the default package. I hope Mark will do it in the time. Third, the add-on, extension system. It is nice. Because they don't touch the database so much, even though they can screw up the forum, all you have to do is to remove some lines from the code. The add-ons are great because they add many new features. I would like to see many add-ons being integrated and fully supported in the default package. I am happy to say that Vanilla has the brightest feature of all forum bulletin boards. Even brighter than PhpBB, SMF, VBulletin, Invison Power Board, punBB (which are the big ones). Congratulations Mark on making the best forum bulletin system, who could guess that it would come last year. Good luck, and I will help you, as all other contributors, to make this forum even crush the competition more.
