Is there a way to limit Categories?

What I mean is, is there a way to make a category private from some users but not others? The reason I ask is because I'm designing this message board for an entertainment troupe and I want the members of the cast to be able to read a certain category but not the regular users.

Any ideas? I was thinking it might come down to the Banned, Member, Admin settings

Take a closer look at the Roles & Permissions setting.

It will do exactly what you need.
