MySQL enabled for PHP?

edited December 2006 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
I am trying to install Vanilla on a new server using Web-Developer(wdsetup-v1.93) When I try to open Vanilla it gives tells me... Error Message You do not appear to have MySQL enabled for PHP. Affected Elements MySQL.GetConnection(); How do I fix this? Can anyone suggest an all in one sort of web server app? (php, mysql..)

  • A pretty popular package is XAMPP/WAMPP/LAMPP depending what operating system you're running..
  • I installed xampp, and now when I try to go to the vanilla install I get a 500 error?
  • Something is not configured correctly if you are getting a 500 error. Try checking the logs.
  • Also try deleting the .htaccess file in your directory.
  • what I dont understand is what could be configured incorrectly, its a fresh install... what should be in the .htacess? I delete the file and i get nothing as if there are no files there... it gets a response but nothing...
  • Is there anything in the logs?
