Bug setting cookies?

edited April 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Problem Description: ================= Upon signing in to vanilla using http://domain.com/dir and then on changing the URL to http://www.domain.com/dir, the user is again prompted to log in. To recreate: ========== 1. Log in to http://lussumo.com/community/ 2. Following the sign in, change the URL to http://www.lussumo.com/community/post/ to see the problem. I've tried setting the -- a. Web-path to Vanilla to both "http://domain.com/dir" and "http://www.domain.com/dir" none of which work. b. Cookie domain to "domain.com", "www.domain.com" and even ".domain.com", neither of which worked. I've also tried few other permutations, none of which worked. Any suggestions how to proceed further to fix this issue? Regards, JD

my cookies are set as follows

Web Path to Vanilla http://rivercity.waterski.org/community/ Cookie domain rivercity.waterski.org Cookie path /community/

You may have to sign out and sign back in again after changing settings... you may also have to clear your cookies

PS why are they changing from a www. to http://? What Visitor manually changes an address lol? Plus if they are at a www. it should redirect them to http:// and vise versa after logging in...
  • Well, it could be just that the webmaster provides a navigation links with and without "www"...and in such cases this could be a problem. I've also tried the exact same settings as you've but that didn't help either. I see that it is a problem even on lussumo.com
  • Works fine keeping me logged in here...?
  • Hmmn..not sure if its just me then..anyhow..here is the screencap of the problem that I'm seeing BlogContestSite.com/vanilla.htm

.domain.com as the cookie domain will work.

If it doesn't work, make sure to delete your cookies for that domain before trying again, and also close all browsers to be safe.
