Wanna Learn about Macbooks.

I'm interested in getting a Mac, mainly because I think I want to get into advertising and that's what they seem to use. I would like to learn them, learn to use photoshop, among other things. I'm looking for help on those "other things". I used to have an old black and white Macintosh before, long ago. It was my mom's. I remember playing Crystal Quest and Some sort of pong/hockey game as well as a paper airlplane game. I just want to learn about Macs, I guess. :-/

  • Evan, get one, a MacBook Pro if you can find the few extra dollars.

I guarantee you will never look back.

I know of 4 PC users waiting for MacWorld Expo announcements in a couple of days before they go out and get a Mac!

  • I intend to start working soon, maybe, and get one. I have no idea how much it would cost me, conversion rate is 6.3 to 1 US. ugh. Don't want to think about customs.

My daughter told me the other day that she needs a new laptop. She has only used Sony Vaio laptops and priced a new one. Then she said that she'll wait until she gets into grad school and get a make (using her education discount). When she was an undergraduate, I used her discount to buy my iPod.
  • Oh yeah, student discount! BUt would that apply to me if I do not go to school in the US?
  • You would have to go to the Apple site and see if your school is applicable.
  • Oh, they have that? Nice. If only I knew where...i'm looking!
  • When I was teaching, they had a "Teacher Purchase" program, the only glitch was that they insisted you took out AppleCare. No big deal though, I usually got it thrown in with some nifty bargaining. It always surprised me what they threw in if it was the only thing holding up a sale.
