In Type we trust...

edited January 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
For all you Windows developers out there who cry every time one of your Mac buddies says "TextMate", go and check out InType, it's only in Alpha at the moment, but Martin Cohen and his team are looking to turn out a really first class product. Plus, they're using Vanilla for their forums! Double plus!

I've always had a soft spot for jEdit, but I'll certainly take a peek at this.
  • Looks like some of InType's homepage was inspired a little bit by the design of getvanilla.com. A bunch of similarities.
  • One or two you could say ;)

Maybe it's just me, but intype seems a bit more...sluggish feeling than some other editors, more noticeably when selecting text. And, from a coding point of view, the syntax highlighter dosn't support continued newlines in C(++); nor does the editor stay indented for more than one tab.

That said, it looks to be a pretty nice text editor, especially considering this is only an alpha release. It's certainly more impressive than anything I've managed to make so far :-P
  • hahaha eric its marks real name lol?? or an alias
  • Looks like someone who stole marks icon.
