Enhancements to Notify

Hi, does anyone know how to modify the Notify Add-On to mail the whole text of a post? If it is to complicated how to change the link so that it points to the last page/post? Regards, Tekl

I'd just love to have this thing work period!

I used to get notification of new members awaiting approval.

They used to get notification that they have been approved.

No longer is this the case, I tried putting in the SMTP details in Application Settings, still no go.

Yes I check the SPAM catcher regularly, lots of SPAM but nothing from Vanilla Notify.

Its not compatible with the new Vanilla update. Mine doesn't work either which is really sad as that's what my clients appreciated most about the forum.

Tekl, I was thinking the exact same thing. I know you can change the wording of the email in the .txt file that comes with the Add-on as it currently looks/reads like spam, quite vague... e.g. "A new comment/discussion was posted on some topic you've subscribed in Holiday Pad Request Board, you won't get another message until you've visited the forum." I agree with you, it should be able to mail you the content of the whole post.

As an option ;) Also, you should be able to write your own email with variables something along the lines of: "There is a new {comment} in your subscribed {topic} on {forumname}, you won't get further notification for this topic until after your next visit ."

Yeah, an option would be nice so you could customise it from your settings page - but the options for this Add-on should be separate from the core Vanilla options ;-))))
