Enhancements to Notify

edited January 2007 in Vanilla 1.0 Help
Hi, does anyone know how to modify the Notify Add-On to mail the whole text of a post? If it is to complicated how to change the link so that it points to the last page/post? Regards, Tekl

  • I'd just love to have this thing work period!

I used to get notification of new members awaiting approval.

They used to get notification that they have been approved.

No longer is this the case, I tried putting in the SMTP details in Application Settings, still no go.

Yes I check the SPAM catcher regularly, lots of SPAM but nothing from Vanilla Notify.

  • Its not compatible with the new Vanilla update. Mine doesn't work either which is really sad as that's what my clients appreciated most about the forum.

  • Tekl, I was thinking the exact same thing. I know you can change the wording of the email in the .txt file that comes with the Add-on as it currently looks/reads like spam, quite vague... e.g. "A new comment/discussion was posted on some topic you've subscribed in Holiday Pad Request Board, you won't get another message until you've visited the forum." I agree with you, it should be able to mail you the content of the whole post.
  • As an option ;) Also, you should be able to write your own email with variables something along the lines of: "There is a new {comment} in your subscribed {topic} on {forumname}, you won't get further notification for this topic until after your next visit ."
  • Yeah, an option would be nice so you could customise it from your settings page - but the options for this Add-on should be separate from the core Vanilla options ;-))))
  • 100% agree.
