Digest as Short-Term Workaround for RSS Issues?
(By RSS, I mean HTTP authentication for private forums).
How hard would it be to code an extension that aggregated the most recent 'x' discussions by title, author, date and 'y' characters of the first post and then 'exported' it into the NewsMailer's add-on text field?
(The ability to select other filters - date, author et al rather than currency of discussion would be cool; ditto some options for sending comments with-and-without their associated discussions).
Easy for me to ask, since I can't code it. I'm just looking for ways to get some reasonable notifications sent while longer-time solutions are considered. I don't know whether NewsMailer (or MassMailer) has the same issues that some have experienced with Notify. Both work for me in testing modes.
